The gist

The Motion Collective is an entity based out of Portland, Oregon, dedicated to the pursuit and transmission of film images, icons, and impressions. We have made various short films, most recently the carbon-infusion drama The Carbon Augury, but are also available in other fields such as project cinematography, scriptwriting and editing. For all inquires on The Motion Collective process and product, please email themotioncollective@gmail.com, or barring that, investigate a few of the links below for our associates.

The International Festival of Cinema and Technology

The IFCT (www.ifct.org) is hosting the Los Angeles premiere of The Carbon Augury on the weekend of February 7–8, 2009, at the tastefully modern site of the Downtown Independent Theatre (251 S. Main St., www.downtownindependent.com). It will be included in the Experimental Films Showcase at 8:30 p.m. on February 8.

In its mission "to discover the undiscovered film," the IFCT "showcases many films that use innovative/cutting edge technology" and "has had 700+ world and regional premieres to date...in some of the world's top film cities including London, NYC, Sydney, Paris, Toronto and Los Angeles."

In 2008 some of its featured works toured nationally at locations such as the Museum of Contemporary Art in Washington, D.C., and Northwest Film Forum in Seattle, along with sites in Australia and the Philippines.
